Development editing entails top-to-tail editing. I’ll provide line-by-line feedback (i.e. track changes and comments in your manuscript) on plot, pacing, writing style, and characterization.

Copy editing includes suggestions on clarity, consistency, eliminating repetition, and grammar. Copy editing is a sentence-by-sentence review of an almost-final draft.

Proofreading scrutinizes a final draft for any final typos, grammatical or punctuation errors, or inconsistencies. This is essentially an extra set of eyes before you hit ‘publish’ to avoid embarrassing mistakes.

Sensitivity reading, also known as authenticity reading, is a type of editorial work for authors writing outside of their own experience. As a subject-matter expert in the areas of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, child abuse and neglect, I help authors write about trauma in a respectful and authentic manner.
